John Gumulak serves as Vice President – Head of Technical at Aerius Leasing, where he leads all technical, asset management, and lifecycle oversight activities across the company’s helicopter and fixed‑wing portfolio.
 
With more than three decades of global aviation experience, John’s early career spanned a broad range of engineering and operational roles in connection to aircraft activities across Australia, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Antarctica. His background also includes supporting disaster‑relief firefighting operations in Spain, humanitarian and emergency response missions in remote regions of Pakistan and helicopter emergency medical services in Australia. During this time, he developed deep expertise in engineering support for aviation operations and airworthiness management.
 
In recent years, John has served with a leading aviation lessor, playing a pivotal role in aircraft acquisitions, redeliveries and repossessions, technical due diligence, asset transitions, and residual value protection. His work has involved close collaboration with operators, OEMs, MROs, financiers, and regulators worldwide.
 
At Aerius Leasing, John oversees technical risk management across the full investment lifecycle from pre‑purchase inspections and contract structuring to in‑service monitoring, redelivery oversight, and end‑of‑lease strategy. He plays a central role in supporting the company’s financing and portfolio initiatives by ensuring all assets meet technical, regulatory, and commercial benchmarks.
 
John is known for his collaborative, solutions‑driven approach. His career reflects a distinctive blend of hands‑on technical expertise, operational insight, and commercial acumen consistently delivering clarity, stability, and value across the lifespan of aviation assets, safeguarding investor interests, and strengthening long‑term partnerships with operators worldwide.
